We exist as Arrowwood Learning Community because of our commitment to the calling of our Heavenly Father to instruct our children, His children, in the paideia of the Lord…the knowledge and love of Him.

This translates seamlessly to tuning our children’s hearts and minds in what is Good, True, and Beautiful. We believe that by presenting a feast of what is Good, True, and Beautiful to our children, or any person, they will not only know God their Father, but be able to recognize and reject what is NOT good, true, and beautiful.

We are named Arrowwood Learning Community because we collectively believe that what scripture teaches in Psalm 127:3-5

³ Behold, children are a ^[a]gift of the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
⁴ Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
⁵ Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;
They will not be ashamed
When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

We look out in the world and see that, more often than not, children are treated like nerf darts haphazardly flicked from their parents fingers. We are raising ARROWS, not NERF DARTS.

Our community day begins with everyone gathering in the sanctuary where we say the Pledge of Allegiance, pray together, and sing as a group. Then we begin recitations of memory verses, poetry, or famous speeches. Ages 10 and older are required to recite every community day, if they have nothing prepared, they must come to the front and say their name.

After our opening time, students divide into two groups by age. One group remains upstairs for an art lesson featuring a well-known artist, while the other group goes downstairs to learn about a famous composer. The groups then switch rooms so each student can participate in both lessons, with instruction tailored appropriately for each age level.

Next, we take a break for snack and playtime before dividing into four age-based groups:

· Scions — PreK through 1st grade

· Tributaries — 2nd through 4th grade

· Bareans — 5th through 7th grade

· Rubicons— 8th grade through High School

Within these groups, students participate in literature discussions and readings, as well as science instruction.

Scion:

Is a young shoot or twig of a plant, a descendant of a notable family.

Tributary:

Is a fast-moving river or stream flowing into a larger river or lake.

Barean:

is one who receives the Word with all readiness of mind. One who is openminded to the truth.

Rubicon:

Comes from the idiom “crossing the Rubicon”, meaning that they are passing a point of no return.

$200 per family for the 2026-2027 school year. Other cost can include: novels for your child's literature class and a few simple school supplies. We do our best to keep cost down. If the cost is beyond your current means please reach out and we be happy to work with you.

Literature: 5 in a Row volume 1: Books: Clown of God, Who Owns the Sun?, The Rag Coat, Another Celebrated Dancing Bear, and Katy and the Big Snow. (one book will be read for 3 meetings in a row with different aspects of the book highlighted)

You Will Need to Purchase the literature books It will be expected that the assigned reading will be done before class. If your child is unable to read at this level yet then they will need you to read it to them.
